Henry Street School for International Studies is a new NYC public school based in an historic neighborhood where all students prepare for college and to find good jobs in the global economy through the pursuit of knowledge about world regions, cultures, and languages. A dedicated expert faculty in both academic subjects and in adolescent development will provide rigorous, inquiry-based, internationally focused instruction, and partner with community and business organizations to help each student succeed.

What are International Studies?
International studies means learning about the geography, history, culture and languages of other world regions. All courses at Henry Street School includes projects that examine themes of international interdependency.

Within a vibrant multi-cultural, multi-ethnic learning environment, the mission of The Henry Street School for International Studies is to provide each student the knowledge, skills and experiences in order to succeed in college or other post secondary education. Students attending HSSIS will develop the deep understanding of world history, regions, and languages needed as a foundation for a career in an internationally oriented profession and to participate responsibly and ethically as a global citizen.
