  1. What is The Henry Street School?
    The Henry Street School is a New York City public school that will serve grades 6 - 12 and is focused on integrating the study of world histories, cultures, languages and interdependence throughout the curriculum. The school is one of NYC's small, reform-minded schools supported by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
  2. What is international studies?
    International studies means learning about the geography, history, culture and languages of other world regions. All courses at Henry Street School includes projects that examine themes of international interdependency.

  3. Am I eligible to apply to Henry Street School?
    Henry Street School is open to all students but middle school admission preference is given to students living in District 1 Region 9; all other students will be admitted space permitting.
  4. How do I apply to Henry Street School?
    Current eighth graders should talk with their school guidance counselor. Current fifth graders in District 1 Region 9 should apply through the Region's Middle School Choice Program or contact Jimmy Bueschen in Region 9 by e-mailing jbueschen@nycboe.net.
  5. When is the application deadline?

  6. When are school assignments announced?
    The Department of Education will send official letters to each student's parent or guardian in June.
